The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey receives a $20,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey opens exhibitions celebrating Gallery Aferro, a Newark-based arts organization.

This fall, the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) will present exhibitions of work from Elana Herzog, Sandra Eula Lee, Samantha Batra Mehta, and Jeffrey Gibson. The works presented explore themes of dislocation and migration through the use of repurposed everyday and found materials.

Open Stage, a theatre company in downtown Harrisburg, will present its first annual The Good at Heart Festival from March 14-19. The six-day festival will feature performances and presentations centered on social and racial justice that ask thought-provoking questions and inspire meaningful community conversations.

Today Paines Plough and Theatre Royal Plymouth have released a first look at new play SORRY, YOU’RE NOT A WINNER written by Samuel Bailey and directed by Jesse Jones.

The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) will open the Winter/Spring exhibition season with three new shows on Friday, February 4. The exhibitions will be on view through May 22.

Today Paines Plough and Theatre Royal Plymouth have announced the full cast for new play SORRY, YOU'RE NOT A WINNER written by Samuel Bailey and directed by Jesse Jones. 

The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey recently opened two new members exhibitions in the second-floor community galleries, Irene Rousseau: Stretching the Space and Trish Classe Gianakis: Elements of Emotion. Both shows will be on view through June 13.

This spectacular display of musicianship is presented by Bonamassa’s Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation and will raise money to support the music community through their Fueling Musicians Program.

The Visual Arts Center of New Jersey recently opened two new members exhibitions in the second-floor community galleries, Barbara Beeman: Nature's Mirror and Janice Patrignani: Inspired Resilience. Both shows will be on view through April 4. 

On Saturday, February 6, the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey will open its new winter/spring exhibitions to the public. To provide the safest viewing experience possible, visitors must make reservations through artcenternj.org for limited, one-hour time slots.

On Tuesday, January 12, at 7 PM, the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey (VACNJ) will host artists Yvette Molina and Elisabeth Smolarz for a virtual discussion titled Community Storytelling Through Contemporary Art. The conversation, which will focus on the artists' communal storytelling projects on view at VACNJ—Big Bang Votive and The Encyclopedia of Things, respectively—will be moderated by Art Center Curator Mary Birmingham.  

On Saturday, October 3, the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey will open two new members' exhibitions in the second-floor community galleries: Lisa Dworkin's Suburban Vernacular and What is Revolutionary? A Project by the Students in the Academy for Design at the Morris County School of Technology. Both shows will be on view through November 29.

Guitar legend Joe Bonamassa, in conjunction with partners Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation and Sixthman have postponed Keeping The Blues Alive at Sea Mediterranean II into next year.

Robert Hastie's new production of Coriolanus follows his critically acclaimed production of Julius Caesar. The production runs from 6 March to 28 March with a Press Night on 10 March.

Sheffield Theatres today announce the full cast for Robert Hastie's new production of Coriolanus. The production follows his critically acclaimed productions of Julius Caesar and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Joining previously announced cast member Tom Bateman are Hermon Berhane, Mudassar Dar, Stella Gonet, Esther McAuley, Remmie Milner, Theo Ogundipe, Louis J Rhone, Eddie-Joe Robinson, Kate Rutter, Malcolm Sinclair, Katy Stephens, Ben Wiggins and Alex Young. The company is completed by members of Sheffield People's Theatre, Sheffield Theatres' intergenerational theatre company.

The Sundance ASCAP Music Café headed into its first full week of the Sundance Film Festival with a wide array of performers representing many different musical flavors. Nashville writers included Joe Robinson, originally from Australia who is a guitar wizard and accomplished sideman for such artists as Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell and many more. Colter Wall, originally from Canada served up some authentic country and western songs made resonant by his deep baritone voice. And Barry Zito, a former major league baseball player who has found a new career as a singer-songwriter in Music City, played songs that have been placed with other artists and which have been featured in film and television.

ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) announces an eclectic music lineup for its 22nd Annual Sundance ASCAP Music Café, taking place January 24 - 31, 2020 during the acclaimed Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Beginning at 2 p.m. each day, the Café will feature a dynamic mix of both established and emerging songwriters and artists such as Matt Berninger (of The National), Derek Smalls (formerly of the band formerly known as Spinal Tap), the bird and the bee, Barry Zito, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Matthew Koma (of Winnetka Bowling League) and ZZ Ward.
