Based on a French film by Jean Poiret by the same name, as well as the inspiration for the 1996 hit film The Birdcage, La Cage aux Folles is a boisterous and uplifting celebration of family values. The musical tells the story of Albin and Georges, two middle-aged partners who run a drag nightclub in St. Tropez. Their outrageously resplendent peace turns to mayhem when their son announces that he is getting married -- to the daughter of a local morals crusader! The original Broadway production received six Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

The producers of La Cage aux Folles announced today that legendary Broadway star Robert Goulet is confirmed to join the cast of La Cage aux Folles. The Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award winning actor will replace Daniel Davis in the role of Georges mid-April (exact date TBD) at Broadway's Marquis Theatre.
