Ovation TV, America's only arts network, has acquired the non-exclusive U.S. digital rights of two titles for its AVOD travel and culture channel JOURNY. The first is Havana Curveball (1 x 60'), a beautiful documentary from directors Ken Schneider and Marcia Jarmel about baseball, United States-Cuban relations, and Holocaust history, rolled into a coming-of-age story about the complexities of doing good. The deal for Havana Curveball also includes linear rights to air on Ovation. The second title, for digital rights only, is The New Creative India (8 x 30'), a documentary series offering an insight to the world of contemporary Indian design, art, mixed-media, jewelry, fashion, and body-art. The announcement was made today by Elba Flamenco, VP of Platforms and Content, Ovation.

Netflix continued its investment in Indian content with its announcement of 10 new original films, further paving the way to become a home for the finest Indian films.

The McCallum Theatre presents Mystic India: The World Tour on Thursday, March 14, at 8:00pm. Created by Director Amit Shah and AATMA Performing Arts in 2011, Mystic India: The World Tour is an internationally acclaimed Bollywood dance spectacular based on the concept of ancient India's transition into modern India. The colorful costumes and elaborate sets have been custom designed by Amit Shah and hand-made in India's film capital by a team of 40 designers and workers over the course of four years. The team of diverse, impeccably trained dancers from the AATMA Performing Arts dance company combines authentic Indian and modern techniques bringing the streets of Mumbai and New York into perfect harmony.

Disney India brings the timeless classic Beauty and the Beast to the Indian stage for the first time ever. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature film, this classic musical love story is presented to Indian audiences on the same scale as the mega-productions seen on New York's Broadway and on London's West End. Over 100 of the best musical theatre performers in India will bring the story of Beauty and the Beast alive on stage, with world class production values, lavish sets and gorgeous costumes, drawing inspiration from western and Indian influences.  BroadwayWorld brings you a first look at the star-studded red carpet opening event below!

Following last year's acclaimed Public Works production of The Tempest, The Public Theater will continue this community-based initiative this September with a free original musical adaptation of Shakespeare's THE WINTER'S TALE. Featuring more than 200 New Yorkers from all five boroughs performing alongside professional actors and The Public's community partners, Public Works' THE WINTER'S TALE will run for three nights only, September 5-7, at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Free tickets will be distributed, two per person, at 12:00 p.m. on the day of the show at the Delacorte Theater and via the Virtual Ticketing lottery at www.publictheater.org.
