On March 3, 2013, Epic Theatre Ensemble held their Annual Gala, Remix: Mix It Up With Epic. The event was held at the McKittrick Hotel, home of Sleep No More. This year's honoree was Tony Award-Winning actor Richard Easton. Highlights of the evening included performances from high school students in Epic's Shakespeare Remix program (winner of the the 2009 National Arts & Humanities Youth Program Award); the live fundraising auction with celebrity auctioneer Gordon Elliottand the funny and heartfelt tribute to Easton by Ethan Hawke and Aaron Krohn (currently appearing together Off-Broadway in Clive). The Oberammergau passionplay 2010 in Oberammergau, Germany held its final dress rehearsal on May 10, 2010. The Oberammergau Passion play, first staged in 1634 to ward off a plague epidemic, has been staged every ten years since then, with few interrruptions. The play, which brings together some 2.500 villagers who act, build, produce, or play music will run from May 15th to October 3rd 2010. (more...)
