PCPA Prepares for the 2013 Summer Season

PCPA Theaterfest's upcoming 2013 Summer Season - which runs from June 13 through September 29 - features an effervescent assortment of theatrical experiences including musicals, comedies and penetrating drama. With the Marian Theatre in the midst of renovations, the Severson Theatre will be the primary Santa Maria venue for two productions, while Solvang will host two transferring shows and two productions which will play exclusively in the outdoor Festival Theater. MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT Opens 6/14 at the Athenaeum Theatre

Monty Python's Spamalot is a musical comedy 'lovingly ripped off from' the 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Like the film, it is a highly irreverent parody of the Arthurian Legend, but it differs from the film in many ways. The original 2005 Broadway production, directed by Mike Nichols with Eric Idle writing the musical's book and lyrics, won three Tony Awards, including the Tony Award for Best Musical of the 2004-05 season and received 14 Tony Award nominations. Entr'Acte Theatrix will present Monty Python's Spamalot from June 20th through the 30th at the Crest Theatre at the Delray Center for the Arts. Tickets On Sale Now for CPCC Summer Theatre Season

Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) Summer Theatre announces individual tickets are now on sale for its 40th anniversary season. This year, the troupe is bringing an incredible lineup of quality shows at prices the entire family can enjoy. Tickets are available for $18 and $22, with tickets for children under the age of 14 available for $10 and just $7 for the children's show. In addition, parking is free for all shows. (more...)

TUTS And Saint Arnold's Team Up To Hold SPAM Cookoff In Celebration Of Spamalot, 5/1

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) and Saint Arnold's have partnered to host Houston's first-ever "Saint Arnold's Spam Off". SPAM - the meat, not the email - has sold over 7 billion cans since its launch in 1937. It has served as the inspiration for comedy shows and earned a place in pop culture with both a museum and a musical bearing its name. Thus, to celebrate the run of Spamalot from May 14 to 26 at Hobby Center, Theatre Under the Stars and Saint Arnold's, along with several other local restaurants, will host a feast, in small bites, centering around the delectable and surprisingly delicious SPAM.
