LES MIS' Jason Forbach, Abilene Philharmonic Perform Broadway Favorites Tonight, 5/5

Jason Forbach, currently appearing as Enjolras in the 25th Anniversary National Tour of Les Miserables, will present a one-night-only concert 'Broadway a la Carte II' alongside Kristi Tingle and the Abilene Philharmonic under the musical direction of Maestro David Itken. The concert is tonight, May 5th at the Abilene Civic Center at 8 p.m. It will feature classic songs from the best of the Broadway stage including hits from Guys & Dolls, Cabaret, Miss Saigon and more. Ramin Karimloo Extends LES MIS Run Through March 31; David Shannon, Gerónimo Rauch Join Cast in Spring

Cameron Mackintosh announced today that Ramin Karimloo will extend his run playing 'Jean Valjean' in the legendary musical "LES MISÉRABLES" at the Queen's Theatre until 31 March 2012. David Shannon will then return to the role of 'Jean Valjean' from Tuesday 3 April - Saturday 16 June 2012. He will be followed by Geronimo Rauch who will play the role from Monday 18 June 2012 until Saturday 15 June 2013 (more...)

One of BroadwayWorld's reliable sources has revealed that West End star Ramin Karimloo, who was just seen as the title character in the 25th Anniversary concert of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, will star as Val Jean in the London production of LES MISERABLES in 2012, taking over for Alfie Boe. With a show as well-known worldwide as LES MISÉRABLES, casting is of the utmost importance. Though West End star Alfie Boe is Cameron Mackintosh's reported first choice to play the iconic role of Jean Valjean in the long-anticipated film version of LES MISERABLES, there are other roles that need casting, and they'll most likely be filled with stars. West End LES MISERABLES Musicians to Re-Audition for Expanded Orchestra

According to The Stage, current musicians from West End's LES MISERABLES will have to re-audition to be a part of the newly expanded orchestra. As previously reported, Cameron Mackintosh will expand the orchestra from 11 to 14 for the production, which is currently playing the Queen's Theatre. The increase in orchestra members will allow the musicians to use the new arrangements for the show, as the West End production is currently the only one still using the outdated arrangements.
