(Jul. 2 3:11 PM) - Variety reports that the stage adaptation of "The Shawshank Redemption" that played at Dublin's Gaiety Theatre will get a West End run in the fall. Based on the Stephen King novella that also inspired the 1994 movie version of "Shawshank", the plot centers on the friendship two men develop over their time as inmates in a notoriously tough prison.

(Jul. 1 6:22 PM) - Actor Harve Presnell, star of stage and screen productions of "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" has passed away from cancer at age 75. Presnell died June 30th of pancreatic cancer at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California, according to Gregg Klein, Presnell's agent.

The performer is said to have agreed to star in one of Richie's new films, and the pair "shook hands over a whisky at the Punch Bowl pub in Mayfair" to confirm the arrangement, reports Britain's The Sun.

(Jun. 29 11:54 PM) - A new cast has been announced for Patrick Barlow's adaptation of The 39 Steps, directed by Maria Aitken, currently in its third year at the Criterion Theatre. The new cast will feature John Hopkins as Richard Hannay. Other cast members include Stephen Critchlow, Stephen Ventura, and Natalie Walter. The new cast members of the hilarious 100-minute whodunnit begin July 13.
