Shakespeare 4 Kidz are launching their UK & international tour of a musical version of Shakespeare's The Tempest with a FREE downloadable programme phone and tablet app aimed specifically at schoolkids, who traditionally don't buy theatre programmes but they do like FREE apps. S4K's The Tempest app, designed by Vi+Amin London, includes the play synopsis, a scene by scene breakdown, cast biogs and photos, a gallery of production photographs, a show trailer and video clips. Producer/Director Julian Chenery said: "It's a new, fun way to read about the show and S4K - and most importantly for our young audiences, it's free! This really is 'such stuff as dreams are made on'!" S4K's The Tempest opens at the Ashcroft Theatre, Croydon on Tuesday 15 January, where it plays at 10.30am and 1.30pm. Further dates in January are at the Assembly Hall Theatre, Tunbridge Wells (Wednesday 16); The Hawth, Crawley (Thursday 17); King's Lynn Corn Exchange (Friday 18); Theatre Royal & Opera House, Wakefield (Monday 21); Wolverhampton Grand Theatre (Tuesday 22) and The Lowry in Salford Quays (Wednesday 23). The show then travels to the Arabian Gulf where it will pay for four weeks in Bahrain, Qatar, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Oman. Back in the UK the tour continues from February 20 in Swindon until Thursday 21 March. Full tour dates below. A storm! A shipwreck! An enchanted island! New company members include Anthony Cable (Gonzalo), Thomas Harvey (Ferdinand) and Yasmin Wakefield (Miranda).
