BWW Review: MACBETH at the Stratford Festival is Frighteningly Great and Greatly Frightening

The Stratford Festival officially opened its 64th Season with a frighteningly great (and greatly frightening) production of the Scottish Play. Director Antoni Cimolino brings us what is likely the darkest and grittiest play to grace the Festival Theatre stage in some time. This may be the eleventh time that Macbeth has graced the Stratford Festival stage, but this daring production feels fresh and new.

As previously reported, LES MISERABLES' Samantha Barks is set to star opposite Marc Devigne in the new Canadian movie musical, STRIKE!, a big-screen adaptation of the original stage show. Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Steven Page makes his Cafe Carlyle debut, March 22-April 2. The two-week run titled Steven Page - Heal Thyself: Past, Present and Future will include songs from Steven's new album, Heal Thyself Pt. 1: Instinct, out on March 11. The set will also include songs spanning his entire 20-year career as a solo artist and as a co-founder of Barenaked Ladies. At Cafe Carlyle, he'll be accompanied by guitarist and co-writer Craig Northey and cellist Kevin Fox.
