The Winter Season in the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse will open on 10 November with Henry V directed by Headlong Artistic Director Holly Race Roughan and co-produced by the Globe and Headlong with Leeds Playhouse and Royal & Derngate, Northampton.

Shakespeare's Globe has announced the cast and company for a new production of The Tempest running this summer from 22 July - 22 October, directed by Sean Holmes. Shakespeare's tumultuous tale of reckoning and redemption will be brought to life by the Globe Ensemble, who have been thrilling audiences in the critically acclaimed season opening production of Much Ado About Nothing which runs until 23 October.

Global horror phenomenon GHOST STORIES will play at Adelaide's Dunstan Playhouse for a strictly limited four week season, from 6 to 31 December 2022.

The BBC and Shakespeare's Globe have teamed up to celebrate the Globe's 25th Anniversary, broadcasting three films on BBC Four and BBC iPlayer. The productions span across the years with Michelle Terry in Twelfth Night (2021), Emma Rice's A Midsummer Night's Dream (2016) and Gemma Arterton in The Duchess of Malfi (2014).

As if the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse wasn’t already atmospheric enough, it feels like a special treat to witness their first candlelit Hamlet. After directing the colourful A Midsummer Night’s Dream just across the courtyard at the Globe, Sean Holmes goes darker and moodier with our favourite revenge tragedy. George Fouracres is the title character. Known mostly for his comedic work (he was Flute in Holmes’s Dream), he proves himself an eclectic actor and an electric Brummie anti-hero. The play’s not the thing here, Fouracres is.

The role of Hamlet will be played by George Fouracres, who delighted audiences with his performances in the 2021 Summer Season productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Twelfth Night, also directed by Sean.

Shakespeare’s Globe is presenting, Hamlet which will be performed for the very first time in the candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse by the Globe Ensemble, directed by Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes.

Though hardly an ideal start to the new theatrical year, we want to applaud all of the incredible casts, creatives, backstage and front-of-house staff who are working so hard to keep shows on. Shakespeare's Globe has announced the full cast of Hamlet which will be performed for the very first time in the candlelit Sam Wanamaker Playhouse by the Globe Ensemble, directed by Associate Artistic Director Sean Holmes.

English Touring Theatre today announces that Peter Holland joins the company as Producer, having most recently worked as the producer at Frantic Assembly. He takes up the role from January 2022. He joins the organisation alongside Richard Twyman, Artistic Director & Sophie Scull, Executive Producer.

Following the celebratory reopening of Birmingham Rep this autumn with critically acclaimed productions of East is East, the brand new musical What’s New Pussycat? and the presentation of Grenfell: Value Engineering, Artistic Director Sean Foley announces a new collection of work to follow his own production of the classic comedy The Play What I Wrote.

BUGSY MALONE will open at Theatre Royal Bath with performances from 2 July 2022, followed by Birmingham Rep from 27 July 2022, prior to a major national tour including Southampton Mayflower from 30 August 2022, with further venues to be announced.
