Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's NATIONAL BLACK THEATRE, the oldest continually operating black theater in New York, will present the New York City Premiere of DEAD AND BREATHING by GLAAD Media Award winner Chisa Hutchinson (She Like Girls). Directed by Obie winner Jonathan McCrory, previews begin October 28 with press opening set for November 5. NOTE: this limited engagement is produced on an Off-Broadway contract.
NOW AFRICA Playwrights Festival Set for NYU

Brown/Trinity Launch SuRF Theatre

This summer, Brown University and Trinity Rep launch SuRF, or their Summer Repertory Festival. It is the newest iteration of the two organizations' combined effort to support new plays in the summer. This first season, housed at Production Workshop, Brown's only student-run theatre, will feature a full production of a new version of The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence by Madeleine George and the first workshop of The Locus by Lucy Thurber.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater continues its 13th anniversary season with the American Premiere of War, the internationally acclaimed play by Lars Norén, Sweden's most prolific playwright. Performances begin Thursday, January 31st, 2008. Opening night is Monday, February 11th at 7pm. The show will run through Sunday, March 2nd, 2008.
