BWW Review: RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA, Cadogan Hall
by Cindy Marcolina
- Oct 21, 2019
Originally written in the 50s by musical theatre duo of wonders Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II for television but then adapted for the stage multiple times, Cinderella saw actresses of the likes of Julie Andrews and, more recently, Broadway favourite Laura Osnes take on the title role. Now, Cadogan Hall hosted a one-off staged concert of the piece that turned the venue into a bona fide enchanting scene. With the London Musical Theatre Orchestra setting the mood for Christine Allado and Jac Yarrow to fall in love directed by Jonathan O'Boyle, the production was a stunner.

BWW Review: ONLY FOOLS AND HORSES - THE MUSICAL, Theatre Royal Haymarket
by Debbie Gilpin
- Feb 20, 2019
When it was announced that Trotters Independent Traders' three-wheeled 'yellow peril' was heading direct to London's West End in the form of a new musical, a few eyebrows were raised. Only Fools and Horses - The Musical was the brainchild of TV series creator John Sullivan, though it has been realised by his son Jim and comedian Paul Whitehouse. Taking a song written by John Sullivan and singer Chas Hodges, along with some notes and ideas, Whitehouse and Jim Sullivan have created a 'greatest hits' of sorts; over 40 hours of TV material has been filtered and spliced together to create this new two-hour stage show.

BWW Review: YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, Garrick Theatre

Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein has officially burst into the West End. Based firmly on the movie, also by Brooks, it's brilliantly kitsch, wholly unsubtle and very, very funny.
