Steppenwolf Ensemble member Tracy Letts, the playwright of Bug, Killer Joe and Man From Nebraska, premieres his newest work, which was awarded the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. When their patriarch vanishes, the Weston clan must return to their three-story home in rural Oklahoma to get to the heart of the matter. With rich insight and brilliant humor, Letts paints a vivid portrait of a Midwestern family at a turning point.

Welcome to the BroadwayWorld International Database - Beta Edition!

The BWIDB is the largest theatre database on the net, covering Broadway and beyond. Quite literally - the whole world of theatre.

We've launched this beta version of the BWIDB already including over 75,000 performers and over 12,000 productions. Those 12,000+ productions were presented in more than 1300 theatres and in over 150 cities! But this is just the tip of the iceberg. We are actively increasing the size and scope of this database to ensure that it's your #1 resource for the history of theatre.

Please bear with us as we continue to collect and verify new and existing information within the database. We encourage you to contribute - just use the easy submission forms located throughout the site.

Happy Exploring!

  QUICK POLL
What do you think of the term “showtune” to describe songs from musical theatre? 9 comments
It’s an inappropriate and derogatory term.
It’s a little too casual.
It applies well to some theatre songs but not for others.
It's perfectly fine.
It’s so derogatory that we’re taking back the word and reclaiming it! Those who love musicals can freely refer to them as showtunes, but those who don’t know Jerry Herman from Stephen Sondheim better not!
