Is there a day where most shows are typically dark? In New York, very few shows play Monday nights, but is it the same in London? I'm planning a trip next month and would appreciate the information. Thanks!

The reason most Broadway theatres are dark on a Monday is that most have Sunday shows. Virtually every West End theatre is dark on a Sunday and all have performances every other night. In contrast, almost all Fringe theatres (similar to Off-Broadway & Off-Off Broadway) have Sunday matinees and many have Sunday evening shows as well.
(There's actually a quite heated debate going on at the moment amongst the theatre community about whether West End theatres should have regular Sunday performances.)
