What a brilliant old-school gay night, all out for £20. Support from the ultra glamorous Supreme Fabulettes and then 90 minutes of this gorgeous middle aged nelly, who has taken more drugs and had more sex than the populations of Soho and Vauxhall combined, sharing so much of his early life in the name of entertainment. His occasional lapses into mawkish sentimentality are easily forgiven surrounded as they are by open, warm, witty slices of his life that feel like public therapy.
I saw his show in an off-Broadway run a couple of years ago. He is tremendously funny and shares quite a bit about himself. Plus, he's very nice to his fans. from RC in Austin, Texas USA
Visiting New York City for the seventh time from June 7-10, 2013. Shows I'll be seeing: Friday, June 7th: "Chicago", Saturday, June 8th @ 2pm: "The Nance", "Pippin": 8pm and Sunday, June 9th: "Vanya, Sonia, Masha and Spike": 2pm.
I went to see this on Tuesday for a friend's birthday. Bits of it are funny and the fact that technically it's a bit inept just adds to it. I thought the drag support was great too, and I am not a fan normally.
