I am coming to london in May (CANNOT WAIT) and want to book a few theatre tickets in advance. In the US I would typically look at something like broadwaybox.com or theatermania.com for discounts.
I haven't found as much in the UK. Do you have any reccomendations? Is Whatsonstage a reputable place to buy tickets?
They seem fine, but also seem like they may resell a few tickets too.
Thanks so much for any help! Let me know what else I should check out too.
We don't seem to do advance discounts as much as broadway over here, but we do a lot of on the day stuff via tkts and many "half price" ticket booths. Very few shows need booking in advance, so leave any of the less popular choices till the day.
Check out which shows do day seats, many do, and you can go to the theatre and get front row stalls for £25.00. For some shows you need to get to the theatre early but for others you can go a bit later.
Also have a look at www.tkts.co.uk They operate the official discount ticket booth in Leicester Square where you can buy cheap tickets in person for many productions each day. They also now sell advance booking tickets.
Other sites include www.lovetheatre.com & www.londontheatredirect.com
Day seats are the equivaltent of Broadway 'rush', except day seats are open to all except 'Matilda', that are restricted between the ages of 16-25.
