It's only been three years or so since the Richard Eyre one, and now the Jonathan Kent production at Chichester's going to transfer?
Admittedly, I think Anna Chancellor will likely be better than Kim Cattrall was, and the rest of the casting seems pretty good. But surely there's no audience for it to come round again so soon?
To be fair, the only thing I didn't really like about Kim Cattrall was her voice. It seemed so affected - maybe she was losing it the night I saw it (press night) but it was so high and thin sounding. Her accent was great - I just found her irritating to listen to!
Anna Chancellor is so good at dry, caustic roles, that I really want to see her take on it.
Once I got by Catrall being about twice the age of her character I enjoyed it. Not sure I need to see another production yet, but if I have a free weekend a 10dayseat is always tempting.
