It looks like Playbill has posted up the cast for the upcoming London production of "Once". It will feature Declan Bennett as Guy and Zrinka Cviteši? as Girl. I don't know anything about Zrinka, and my only exposure to Declan was when he did the tour of "Rent" in the states, and he doesn't really strike me as "Guy" (but, full disclosure, I'm totally in love with Steve Kazee, and so I am a little biased), but I wish them luck.
I think Declan Bennett will be fantastic as Guy. Apart from his musical theatre pedigree (Taboo, Rent, American Idiot), he is a seriously awesome singer-songwriter.
And there are a number of other impressive names listed in the cast, such as Ryan Fletcher (from John Tiffany's National Theatre Of Scotland award winning production of Black Watch plus a number of other prestigious plays, including Cockroach) and Jez Unwin (who will play the Bank Manager - he's played lead roles in West End's Ghost & Sweet Charity and appeared in numerous other West End shows over the years, including Evita and The Far Pavilions - he was most recently in The Magistrate at the NT and back in 2007 he was a brilliant Guillaume in Martin Guerre at the Watermill).
I'm also delighted to see Jos Slovik's name in the cast (Soho Cinders, Spring Awakening & also the Les Mis movie). I've worked in the recording studio with Jos - awesome voice!
Loved Once in New York and getting really excited about seeing the West End show now!
