PEOPLE WHO TURN TURN UP LATE!!! winds me up!! why pay that much money to turn up late!!!! and people who don't clap (Sondheim is an exception)these are two things i hate the most!!!
“ You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world. ” It's from Orwell's 1984.There's a TV programme of the same name.
I'd put in popcorn, crisps, sweets, ... and other noisy and smelly foods people feel the need to eat in the theatre these days. I'd also put in the tourist who translates or describes what happens to the rest of his group.
Thanks, PeggyB - remembered the Orwell reference from the distant past when I read it when you jogged my memory! Not heard of the TV show though - obviously don't watch the right kind of TV lol
As for what I'd put in there - mobiles phones! SO p***sed off by people who text/tweet through an entire show, disturbing me and everyone around them with the beaming light from their phones.
Also - people who bring drinks into the theatre, which often results in them being spilt, always results in them waving their arms under my nose as they swig their drink and then the empty plastic glasses end up rolling about the floor under my feet!
Audience wise: anyone who can't keep quiet for the show, any parents who refuse to supervise their children. (I have plenty more with my usher hat on but that'll do for now)
Creatively: Any form of audience interaction (I'll allow panto an exception) any form of audience plants, any fake 'corpsing' on stage.
