HONK at the Tabard

Stiles & Drewe's Olivier Award winning musical, HONK!, will be this year's Christmas musical at the Tabard Theatre - running from December 10 to January 13. (I've already booked for Dec 10!)

It's a fabulous little show & I've seen some fantastic things at the Tabard in the last couple of years, so this promises to be great.

Also - the lead role of "Ugly" will be played by Joe Sterling (who covered and played Mowgli in the 2011/12 UK Number 1 Tour production of The Jungle Book). I know I'm a little biased (lol) as Joe is a very close friend but he is genuinely a brilliant young actor and his singing voice has a really beautiful tone. He will be amazing in this role. So - book your tickets now!

Id love to go but frustratingly the midweek shows are at 7 which is too early to get across town and I dont think I have a free weekend. Bah Humbug.

Has this only just been announced? Was looking for a Sunday matinee after Damned by Despair got cancelled and was really struggling to find anything.

Yesterday I bought a ticket for Boy Meets Boy at the Jermyn Street theatre and then I see this. Oh well, I might be able to squeeze it into my New Year trip.

The cast includes West End veteran, Mark White as Drake - his long list of credits include Will Parker in Oklahoma and roles in the original West End productions of Taboo and Moby Dick!

Saw the first preview of Honk! on Monday night at the Tabard - absolutely wonderful! Beautifully staged in the small space and every single member of the cast was brilliant. The songs are shown off superbly - I'd almost forgotten just how great a score this is.

I would say this is a show NOT TO BE MISSED by anyone who's in London during the next 5 weeks.

I've already booked to see it again in January!

Managed to fit in the matinee on sunday.
The pacing felt off for me but some lovely voices and clever use of space.

Just wondering what the running time of this is? Seeing if I could possibly fit in somewhere..

It's 2 hours, inclusive of a 20 minutes interval.
