I imagine there's a comprehensive list of script and song changes somewhere, but besides anything else I know that a lot of Kylie material became Madonna songs when the show travelled to broadway.
(There are priscilla fanatics somewhere out there, try the whatsonstage forums!)
2013: The Magistrate**** Singin in the Rain***** The Phantom of the Opera (UK Tour)**** Richard III**** Dear World** Chess**** Abigail's Party**** The Book of Mormon***** A Chorus Line**** Peter and Alice***** A Man of no importance***** 9 to 5: the musical** High Society****
I remember seeing a clip of the Broadway Mary Poppins where (in my memory) all the grey sheen had been replaced by reds and greens and multiple other colours!
I looked on google for info about this and all I could find was that some of the songs are different and some of Ticks clothes are different and Bobs intro is different.
It became a less harsher I think when it went to the U.K. Along the way some of Tony Sheldon's costumes changed (and make-up). By the time it got to Broadway it became more "family friendly" and the role of Tick was more prominent, and of course the aforementioned ditching of Kylie in favour of Madonna.
So far Jason Donovan is the only main cast member we know of to be cast. Oliver Thornton is not coming back as he has just been cast in the UK tour of the Rocky Horror Show. I wonder who the rest of the cast will be?
Thought the show was OK but nothing special, have to say though i preferred the Madonna songs to Kylie songs (though i am a big Madonna fan) but i thought Material Girl worked a treat in the show
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna
I can't remember the understudy name (when I'm home I can look it up) but I saw him, and he was excellent! A bit young perhaps but strong vocals and acting.
I know that's not much help!
I do remember a joke about Kylie falling a bit flat-you could almost sense the audience figuring out 'oh right that guy is usually Jason Donovan'
Maybe I'm on nobody's side
