Hello BWW Family. I've followed this board for a few months now and have only just signed up, but am hoping for a little advice from people more knowledgeable than I.
I am coming to London during Half Term (29th and 30th October) with my mother (got to keep her sweet from time to time), we've already got tickets to see Cabaret and she really wants to see Billy Elliot.
I was considering trying to get tickets from TKTs on the day (because buying tickets upfront for Cabaret was pricey). Anyone care to hazzard a guess at how good the seats from TKTs will be on the day (considering it is half term)? Or whether I should go to the box office and try there first (not after front row day seats as she is quite short and won't appreciate watching the show if she can only see the heads and shoulders of the actors (we learnt that at Jersey Boys front row). Do the box office sell 'on the day' tickets anywhere in the theatre at the TKTs price, or would they still be knocking them out at the full price?
We are aiming for the Tuesday matinee of Billy as she doesn't like travelling home late on her own.
You could look for discounts on Theatre Monkey or Love Theatre websites in advance-Billy is quite often on there.
Aside from day seats they theatre will only have full price on the day. I havenn't been to tkts in a while so I couldn't tell you if Billy is likely to be on there sorry.
Go to the box office first and enquire about day seats first, which you can pick up from £19.50, then if in the unlikely event that fails then go to TKTs.
However a little caveat Billy Elliot does have a high stage, so bare this in mind if purchasing day tickets for the first row.
www.victoriapalacetheatre.co.uk which is the theatre's site has some front stalls for £27.50. I have only ever sat there and the stage is high but you don't miss much (I am quite tall though). Better than chancing it on TKTS
