There will be a high profile workshop of the new epic Welsh historical musical MY LAND'S SHORE (by Christopher J. Orton & myself) in London early next year, followed (hopefully) by a full production later in the year. Announcements of full details will be made in due course.
Craig Revel Horwood described My Land's Shore as "a powerful story with a beautiful, soaring score - a Welsh Les Mis" and Stiles & Drewe wrote that the show has "a soaring, passionate and hauntingly melodic score which, though set in 1831, has a resonance and relevance in today's Eurozone era".
The album shot right up the Dress Circle Best Seller list when it was released in February and has been selling well across the globe since then - in the UK, Germany, USA, Australia & Japan. If you don't already have a copy (and if not, why not?! lol) - please take a look at our show's website, where you can listen to audio clips of songs & order a CD online.
If you like what you hear, please spread the word. We are SO close to getting the show fully up and running now - we just need to secure the investment. The greater the volume of public support we can demonstrate, the greater will be our chances of getting the show to the stage. So, if you like what you see and hear, everyone on this board can be a part of helping get a genuinely new piece of musical theatre to the stage. Simply TELL EVERYONE ABOUT IT and urge people to buy the album.
No prob, Soonerorlater - The Road To Port Of Barry went well. Audiences seemed to love it.
Thanks for the good wishes for MLS. We're just in the process of confirming a theatre in London for a performance of the show to an invited audience at the end of the workshop (already have a space for the 2 week workshop). Will announce on here as soon as all details are confirmed. (have some pretty exciting cast members lined up too!)
Brand new musical theatre score with an amazing West End cast - Jonathan Williams (Les Mis, Godspell), Alexis James (War Of The Worlds, Les Mis, Romeo & Juliet, Notre Dame De Paris), Rhiannon Sarah Porter (Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Mis), Kelly Anne Gower (Blood Brothers, Les Mis, We Will Rock You), Kit Orton (Spamalot), Sarah Lark (Les Mis, Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, Oliver!), Gareth Richards (Thornbirds, Only The Brave) & Killian Donnelly (Billy Elliot, The Phantom Of The Opera, Les Mis).
Please support new musical theatre - it will be the best 7.99 you've ever spent!!!
Here's a new video of Kelly-Anne Gower (fresh from the Blood Brothers tour and from filming for the Les Mis movie) singing Still Even Now (from My Land's Shore) at the Union Theatre on August 12. Youtube: Kelly-Anne Gower - Still Even Now from MY LAND'S SHORE
Here's another video of a song from My Land's Shore performed at The Songwriters' Union on August 12 - I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU, performed by Craig Rhys Barlow (Tommy, Children Of Eden, Ragtime, When Harry Met Barry) and Kelly-Anne Gower (Blood Brothers, Les Miserables, We Will Rock You).

I don't like the sound of this. Please do use the original stars of the album (Jonathan Williams, Sarah Lark, Killian Donnelley, Rhiannon Sarah) and not celebrity names!!
123musicalfan - it will pretty much be a case of availability. Some of the recording cast will be in the workshop, some have other commitments or are otherise unavailable, etc.
Don't get me wrong - all of the recording cast are very exciting performers - we'll just have some equally exciting replacements! And all will be bona fide musical theatre performers, not mere "celebrities".
Yeah - I tend to judge star quality on the basis of genuine talent rather than mere celbrity status and what TV programme or movie someone may have been in. And the wealth of talent amongst West End musical theatre performers is truly astonishing (right down to people who are covering lead roles) - to me all these people are "stars". And I feel truly blessed that I have been fortunate enough to have been able to work with many of them and have them perform my songs. Speaking of which..............
Please take a look at and listen to this new promo video for the My Land's Shore recording with behind the scenes shots in the studio and the amazing vocal presence of Jonathan Williams, coupled with his crazy sense of humour.
