I apologize if there has been a post about this already, but has anyone seen it? I love this book and would love to know more about this adaptation.

Would tell you - but it's sold out for the remainder of the run. I think it's going to be part of the NT Live Scheme, so keep a look out for it at your local cinema!

NT Live of this is actually this coming Thursday 6th, at least in the States. I'm seeing this in my neighborhood in New York City and can't wait.

Seeing this on Wednesday (along with London Road) and yes 6th in UK cinemas. Really looking forward to it too.

Does anyone know why they cancelled a performance yesterday (1st?) I was in the NT looking at the bookshop and there was a notice regarding day tickets saying it was cancelled-but only one of the performances. Tech relating to NT live maybe?

They cancelled Saturday night and I think tomorrow's performance because Luke Treadaway, who plays the lead, has damaged his knee, so they're giving him the weekend to recover.

Ah thanks-as I say just read the notice quickly in passing.

Hoping he gets better soon then.

Sooner or Later, I'm hoping to snag a ticket to London Road myself this Wednesday. I'll be on the lookout for the Connie Fisher look alike.

haha brilliant! My hair is no longer nearly as red as hers. I'd tell you where we're sitting but my friend has the tickets so no idea! (if I find out I'll let you know!)

Are you matinee or evening for London Road?

Matinee for London Road, evening for Curious incident :)

ETA: We're in the circle, and our group just returned a ticket (long story) and apparently there are 4 tickets left for London Road tomorrow if you or anyone else on here wanted them
Do come and say hello-perhaps not by shouting 'it's the Connie Fisher lookalike' across the circle though!

I've just returned from seeing the play at the start of its West End run. Wow, what an outstanding piece of theatre!!

Superbly staged with incredible movement & choreography, the production is brilliant from start to finish & at its heart is Luke Treadaway's exceptional performance as Christopher.

This play is amoing the very best I've seen in my many years of theatre going.

I saw this tonight also, if I knew you were there Paul I would of said hello.

Paul 'Constellation' at one stage had it in the bag as best play for you, I think tonight was a game changer, pleased you loved it.

Well Paul you use the superlative for this as 'superb', I would love to agree with you but I will go with excellent, outstanding and the best play I have seen this season, in fact the best play I have seen since 'Jerusalem', also in this theatre.

This has to be a serious contender for Olivier for the best play, agree with Paul Luke Treadway gives a tour-de-force performance and also a must for the Olivier for best leading actor.

N.B. I sat in the balcony in the first half and the stalls the second half, I would advise the balcony is a better seat, a show best seen from the circles or balcony.

Glad you loved It and ditto, I'd have said hello too if I'd known you were there.

I was in the stalls throughout but I did wonder what it would be like to sit higher up so am interested by your comments. Why was the balcony better in your opinion? I know people who saw it in the Cottesloe when of course it was a much more intimate experience & staged in the round & loved that. It appears to have seamlessly transferred to a larger stage but then its hard to imagine something so brilliant not working wherever it's staged.

I wouldn't like to have to choose the best play at the Oliviers. This is certainly a real contender as is Luke Treadaway for his phenomenal performance. We have been truly blessed with some great plays over the past year.

From up high, you can appreciate Paule Constable amazing lighting and some of this happens on the stage floor and cannot appreciate the amazing lighting from the stalls.

However noticing two empty seats in the front row of the stalls, I grabbed one of these after the intermission, one benefit of being up close to the stage, I can observe the craft of acing, which I love and from there you can see warts and all, but more often than not some resplendent stage craft, from some of the best actors in the world.

I was just a few rows from the front in the stalls so appreciated the intimacy that it affords, especially seeing the actors up close, but I take your point about the lighting. If i see it again I might try a higher seat next time

Spoilerish - Do they handle the scene on the train tracks, and the "encore," the same as the NT?

Don't know didn't see it at the National ***regretfully***. But the train track was a central theme for the first half.

I am not sure if this again would of been appreciated fully from the stalls.

Rightly so. From what I've read & heard, the production and the performances have grown since the NT run and are even better now. Am very tempted to see it again

I could see this again.

Luke Treadaway performance is unimpeachable, as a Olivier winner.

I'm sure he must be a real favourite to win. He missed on on ES award I think but wouldn't be surprised to see him win
