The Road To Port Of Barry - new black comedy play on a mini-tour of Wales in September

Thought I'd post this just in case there's anyone from South Wales on here who may be interested. There will be a production of a short black comedy play co-written by Christopher J. Orton and me in Cardiff, Swansea and Newport in a few weeks time. I've pasted details below and a link to the play's website at the bottom of the page. Would be great to see some of you there if you're around!

"The Road To Port Of Barry is irreverent, edgy, profane, violent and funny. It poses serious questions about war, violence, friendship and the meaning of life - without ever taking itself seriously. It is set inside a dirty caravan on an ostrich farm in South Wales, where two young men - Billy and Kelly - argue, make fun of each other, play the Welsh edition of Monopoly and discuss the possible contents of a mysterious cardboard box. When a strange and sinister Man In A Suit arrives looking for the box, the game of Monopoly and the general tone of the play become increasingly funny, increasingly tense and increasingly violent as comic one-liners abound and dead bodies litter the stage.

What is inside the box? Who is the Man In A Suit? Why do the characters continue to play a game of Monopoly? Why does Billy shoot an ostrich? Why does Kelly keep singing songs from Miss Saigon? Will anyone escape from the caravan alive? And how many people will ever be prepared to die for the sake of a box?

performance dates & venues:
The Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff on Tuesday September 11 at 8pm
The Dylan Thomas Centre, Swansea on Wednesday September 12 at 7.30pm
The Riverfront Theatre, Newport on Thursday September 13 at 7.45pm
Cast: Sam Harding, Scott Barker, Brendan Charleson
Directed by Julie Barclay
Tickets: £4

Bob-so annoyed I'll be in London on 11th so I'll miss the Cardiff performance. I'll try and make it to the Newport one though.

That's fantastic, SoonerOrlater! Was at a rehearsal all day yesterday in Cardiff and the two young actors in the lead roles were amazing. They even found some humour I didn't know was there lol. Really excited about it now.
