I never fought with him. All I ever did was call him out on his lies and let him know how I felt about people who use these forums to disguise truths to advance their own agendas and/or opinions.

I enjoy Mamas posts and hope that he returns soon. However, sometimes Mama does get the facts wrong or jumbled up and I think that it fair enough to point that out (in a polite way of course).
Put with the same token, this is a fan forum message board, not a news page, the very basis of this, is that it is gossip and ideas and responses etc. of course not everything that is posted here will come true and if you take everything on here as fact, you are quite foolish, not least of all that the theatre is an unstable industry, so if something doesnt come true, it doesnt mean the person was lying, the more likely scenario is that there contact got there facts wrong, or the plans changed, remember nobody here pretends to be a leader in West End theatre, so most information will be from a 3rd party... I think some people need to remember the purpose of this board, and maybe they will also enjoy it more if they take it as fun and a place to gossip and express personal opinion, not harass people for posting something that is not off the news press!
He did (hopefully does?) sometimes get stuff wrong, and got in a bit of a huff when he was questioned, but he was really helpful to me a few times, when he had no real need to be. It's a shame he's not posting....but who knows!!!
People exaggerate and bitch and tell untruths on these boards all the time. What pissed me off about Mama is, because of his ability to gather theatre info and his dominance here, he had attained some sort of de facto West End Board "leader". I'm not sure he set out to cultivated this, but I'm sure he enjoyed the status. This lent him some respect. He reported things that were generally correct. People looked to him as representing the truth. This gave him a tiny bit of power. And he abused it. It might seem petty that I care. But we all have to watch out "leaders" and those who provide information. If they bend truth even to a slight degree to push an agenda, whether its the White House, Parliament, or tiny little Broadway dot com, we have to shed light and counteract with the truth and stay vigilant.
As for SongandDanceMan2, he may have you believe otherwise, but I was FAR from the only person on the Broadway boards to be exasperatedly annoyed with him and tell him so. I wasn't even the first to call him a liar (the lie I'm speaking of was a false fact he was using to back up his opinion on characters from Stephen King's "Carrie" . And my GOD did he go on and on and on when almost everyone on those boards disagreed with him on his take, which he had every right to steadfastly, belligerently, and continuously make...until he got so frustrated he told a lie to make sure we all knew HIS opinion was the CORRECT opinion.
Then I found out he ran a theatre company and, after I wept, I decided such a person with such power should be taken down in the only way I could feasibly. To make sure everyone knew what he was and what he did.

Originally as the Carrie thread will show the 2 lies you accused me of was having a bootleg DVD of the new Carrie ( which I proved to you via PM that I had) and tried to call me a liar about running my own company ( which you must now believe because you keep going on about it). The only thing I said about the book is that I don't think Margaret is portrayed as just a monster. So what lies? Bring the old thread up and show me. You are a dick for the sake of being a dick, it's pathetic. And who the hell are you to warn anyone about my work when you have never seen it and are a faceless bitchy queen behind a computer? I would love to see if you were so cocky face to face, but of course you wouldn't be, because people like you never are. And also because I liked the new Carrie that means I have no taste in theatre? Owen22, I do agree with you, on your first paragraph, bur disagree with you on mostly everything else you posted about Mama, especially when it id nasty. I found Mama used to swamp the board with threads on anything the relevance was sometimes questionable and he rarely offered opinion on relevant threads and didn't offer anything on the fun threads that people used to do, as it seemed 'above him', but then again Mama is a great knowledge on all things theatres and I appreciated several threads that I know would of taken hours to prepare. some people on here regarded Mama as a historian of theatre and I certainly would subscribe to be one of these persons.
I assumed Mama stopped posting on here, when our moderator (Carrie) asked to post a link, when quoting another source, to stop breech of copyright and took exception about the ruling and stopped posting.
Other than that I genuinely hope Mama is in good health and considers posting back on here.
I think it's a great shame that Mama felt that need and wish some other members of this board would leave instead. I for one have huge respect for Mama because first and foremost he is a nice person and I have no reason to say that he had anything but a heart of gold.
He really is, i chat to him on PM quite a bit and he always makes me giggle, and meeting him was great, he's such a nice guy. I think Mamma will be back posting soon
