Saw this last night. Totally blown away - better than any new production I've seen in the West End in 2012. Yes, the cracks in the Book are still evident and, at times, a little perplexing but the score (Herman's finest IMO) more than makes up for that. Tom Southerland's production is tight, edgy and bursting with energy. There is not a single weak link in the cast, with the stand-outs being Bowman's Mack, golden voiced Stuart Matthew Price as Frank and Laura Pitt-Pulford's Mabel. To describe her performance as fantastic would be the understatement of the year.
I thought it was excellent. I would also highlight Jessica Martin's performance alongside Stuart Matthew Price although it's really Norman Bowman and Laura Pitt-Pullford's show.
