Just a heads-up to those of you who may be interested:

Tonight (11th August) at 8pm, BBC2 is showing "Glamorous Night: A Celebration of Ivor Novello" recorded at the BBC Proms.

From Radio Times:

From the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Halle and conductor Mark Elder celebrate the work of Ivor Novello, with soprano Sophie Bevan and tenor Toby Spence. In the 1930s Novello wrote a string of musicals that saved Drury Lane Theatre from closure and helped fill empty seats throughout the 1940s and early 50s. This Prom, narrated by actor Simon Callow, features time-honoured favourites such as We'll Gather Lilacs in a tribute to the playwright, composer and silent-film star. Presented by Katie Derham.

Also, Alfred Hitchcock's 1927 film "The Lodger" starring Novello and with a newly commissioned score by Nitin Sawhney is currently being shown at the British Film Institute (http://www.bfi.org.uk/) and will be released on DVD in September (http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Lodger-2012-Soundtrack-DVD/dp/B0086O7WUI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1344674599&sr=8-2)
