Looks like I'll be in Europe a couple of times this year: once in January and again in August. I'm debating which trip I should touchdown in the UK, or whether both trips require a small stop.

That said, a large consideration is what's on stage in the UK. I've been reading this board and whatsonstage a lot recently but haven't been able to get excited about much playing on the West End or off. (In all fairness, I feel pretty much the same way about New York's 2012/2013 season...)

So what are you all looking forward to this season?

I have got trips planned for January, April and August next year.

In January I am probably going to watch Kiss Me Kate at the Old Vic. Merrily We Roll Along at the Menier, Constellations at the Duke of York, Privates on Parade (Grandage season) plus Viva Forever and the Bodyguard.

Might also stop of in Leicester on the way there to see Caroline O'Connor in Hello Dolly.

After that all I've got planned is the rest of the Grandage season, Charlie, Book of Mormon and Rowan Atkinson in Quatermaine's Terms.

I can't wait to see Merrily We Roll Along, Kiss Me Kate, Privates on Parade, Twelfth Night with Mark Rylance and Taboo all of which I'm booked to see in December. Also going to see A Chorus of Disapporval and Daddy Long Legs.

Booked for Book of Mormon and Peter and Alice in March. Can't wait to see Charlie and A Midsummer Night's Dream with Sheridan Smith.

Looking to the Autumn I think there's more going on in the regions than there is in the London (which I know doesn't help Play Esq.) but the Menier's Merrily and Bennett's People could tempt me to make the journey south.

Wasn't the latter originally intended to have Sheila Hancock in the role that Frances de la Tour now has?

Winter is looking most promising: aside from what you all mentioned (great choices by the way...especially Menier's Merrily and the start of the Grandage Production Co.) there is also Kiss Me Kate at the Old Vic and in the republic of happiness at the Royal Court.

Any word of what's at the Donmar and National in January? Any early word? What about the Almedia?

One more question: what were your thoughts of Norris' Cabaret the first go around. I for one adore Will Young (though i have never seen him on stage) as well as this musical, but Mendes production was simply flawless and I'm afraid this revival (of a revival?) may wilt by comparison.

Thanks again everyone for all your input! It's quite helpful!

I personally loved it. It was dark, dirty and gritty. The following tour wasnt as strong so I hope this is closer to the West End version. The supporting cast is also very strong
