Headed to London from the US in early September. Ragtime is one of my all time favorites. Loved it in DC and on National Tour, even a recent great regional production. Should I see it in Regents Park?
We saw the brief West End production (Friedman, Willets) some years ago.. This production has some great singers and seems far more earthy. The current day/yesterday concept works for me and didn't distract from the show. As long as the weather's reasonable (!), it's a great venue, both for beforehand (food, the fairy lights etc) and the performance space. If you can get a £20.12 ticket, it's an absolute bargain. We were there Saturday row H (after trying to insist row I was row H..think about it!!).
Saw Ragtime again Monday, on a beautiful summer but little chilly evening, however the superb Rosalie Craig knocks 'Back To before' knocks it out of Regents Park.
'Wheels of a Dream' and 'The Night that Goldman spoke at Union Square' is exquisite as well.
