Can't wait to hear it! I didn't realize this production incorporated so many changes from the 1996 studio recording though.

This is a really fantastic recording. The cast sound great, few cuts have been made to either the song list or dance sequences/the music itself and the orchestra has been bulked up with a string section. In addition to this, (with the exception of one line of dialogue) the sound of the recording is very natural and not too "up close" of tinny like many new recordings (mostly Broadway). It is attractively packaged with some photos too and the Act II Ballet exists in its entirety.

So glad it's been recorded.

^Is it a studio recording or a live recording like was originally discussed on here? I still can't fathom how they would record it live with the rain.

Also, how did you get it so early?

It's a studio recording :)

And I bought it from the theatre last night.

Amazingly, it even has the company reprise of the title song and the playout music!

Its a very good recording, but it makes me realise how sad it is Scralett Strallen hasnt been recorded more often. Also wish The Music Man with her and Brian Conley transferred a few years back, brilliant production
