I'm coming into London on Wednesday the 25, but not arriving until 7:45pm. I think I would be able to get to a theater by 8:30. do I have any chance of catching a show at this time?
Thank you for any possible help

Too late for everything on a Wednesday unless You can find a late night cabaret at the Leicester Square or similar

Is 7:45pm the time your plane lands or the time you set foot in the West End? I would assume a lot more than 45 minutes to get from Heathrow to the centre of London.
Particularly this week - there's a lot happening and also the threat of public transport strikes!

You remind me of a great other point on curtain times for a Friday.
With Rock of Ages transferring earlier this year its 2 shows from a Friday to a Sunday, Mamma Mia transferring theatre from 06th September and then start doing a traditional midweek matinee, so last Friday show at the Prince of Wales on the 31st August and Chicago closing on the 02nd September, which will mean........
The demise of the Friday early and late evening show, which I liked as it meant I could see a show after my late turn finished at 8pm, then catch a 8:30 show, I hope this is temporary

What with customs (I'm assume you're American as you spelt it "theater"), travel from Heathrow to town, more unexpected delays - it leaves me no choice but to offer this sad piece of advice: Don't risk a show your first night! :) Arrive, relax, have some food, refresh and then be all prepared for theatre joy the next day!
However, I might say London on a summer's eve is a theatre in itself; walking around Hyde Park, St James' Park (one of the most beautiful parks in the world) or even Leicester Square/Piccadilly Circus is entertaining in itself.
