Just wondering if anyone saw this? Opened at The Victoria Palace, transferring to the Piccadilly in 2000 and closed 8 months later.

it reminded me of a regional rep production in terms of its design and values.
I quite liked the score and simple fable-like story of medieavl royalty. Julie Alannah-Brighten (of Beauty & the Beast) sang well and only Oliver Tobias was growly and hammy.
It belongs in the category of pointless, over produced crap. It was a real plod of an evening with a tedious story told in a tremendously tedious way. It was the first big production the director Mitch Sebastian had been given full reigns on... he hasn't really done anything much since. Yes, I know some people will now list what he's done and I know very well that list but he's done nothing this big. It was Paul Keating's first show after his debut in 'Tommy' The fact it closed at the Piccadilly tells al about its values and will sit there with all those wonderfully dreadful flops.
Great performances but the score and the show overall were a major snore.
