I saw Wicked for the first time on the 6th June, really hoping to see Rachel Tucker and Gina Beck. When i bought my programme Nikki's insert fell out and i was a bit annoyed that i wasn't going to see Rachel after falling in love with her Olivier performances earlier this year, although i did have the wonderful Gina who is extraordinary and stole the show.
I am always opened minded to understudies/standbys and Nikki blew me away, she deserves to grace the Apollo 8 times a week! Her take on the role was fiesty, funny but heart-breakingly vulnerable. I left not feeling as if i have missed out on seeing Rachel.
Has anyone else had the pleasure of Nikki's performance? Thoughts?
