I'm pleased that Sweeney did so well. Maybe the movies of Follies and Into The Woods will happen??

I think Les Miserables will do incredibly well based on the trailer. Mind you Evita had a fabulous trailer and I hated the movie.

No mention of Nine. I know it flopped, but I quite liked it and it had IMO some fantastic scenes .

The film of Into The Woods is happening... Disney are making it (!!!!)

Chicago was an absolutely awful movie. As with most musical adaptations it lost half the score and all the humour of the stage show (and the wonderful choreography which is an integral part of the stage show).

Nine was pretty awful too (again missed half the score and half the plot).

I think rapid cutting is about the worst thing that's happened to movies generally, and musicals in particular.
Look at some of the Astaire/Kelly movies and the length of the shots. Cutting can cover a multitude of sins.
