New productions of both 'My Fair Lady' and 'Macbeth' are to play Sheffield Theatres later this year. Artistic director Daniel Evans is to direct both productions as part of the autumn season.
'Macbeth' will run in the Crucible Sept 5th to Oct 6th. 'My Fair Lady will run Dec 12th to Jan 26th, 2013.
No casting has been announced yet for either production.
The autumn season also includes the premiere of 'Straight' by DC Moore, which follows two friends and “one fateful night out”. The play will be directed by Richard Wilson and will run in the studio venue in November. It is being produced by Sheffield Theatres in association with the Bush.
The regional premiere of Penelope Skinner’s 'The Village Bike' will run from Sept 13th and Polly Findlay will direct a revival of 'A Taste of Honey' by Shelagh Delaney, which will run from Oct 25th.
Might make a trip up for 'My Fair Lady', gutted I didn't see Company but seeing Gypsy in Leicester made up for it.

Why are they doing such a guaranteed box-office hit?
Did they lose so much money on Company last year?

Dominic West is playing Higgins - so, as a Sheffield lad, he gets to go home for Christmas.
And we get to see a Higgins who makes us understand why Eliza might want to drop her drawers for him.
