Thanks so much for the heads-up. Tickets booked. What about the Gwynneth Paltrow rumours?

The design for Finding Neverland was by dewynters... I think it's alright, doesn't look really theatrical though, more like a design for a book.

Mr Sloane looks like an Action Man figure that a kid has accidentally thrown on the fire!

Very poor, all of them.

I know someone who's been at call-backs. There are big guns behind 'Neverland'.

A rent boy Action Man. Hello Dolly is horrific, I mean, who the hell thought that was good enough to publish. The previous text would have been better.

Im surprised thats the best Dewynters can come up with for Finding Neverland. It sort of reminds me of the Sunday in the Park with George artwork. I hope they change it though in time.

I just can't see Gwyneth in Leicester, unless they helicopter her in nightly

I went through one of the songs for a friend of mine who was auditioning, and I've got to say it sounds quite good!

But, I guess that's just one song...

Those designs are like "My First Little Photoshop". Nasty.

I do not know anything about Scott Franket or Michael Korie. Has anyone seen/heard anything else by them? What was it like? Do you think "Finding Neverland" will be worth catching?

Grey Gardens....never seen, but the cast recording I have is great.

Great, thanks. I'll look into "Grey Gardens". How would you describe Franket's musical style? Is it a fairly traditional musical?

'Grey gardens' is beautiful, 'Finding Neverland' is a bit of a plodding bore.

Has it been tried out already? I thought it was new new.

I think Mama might be too pessimistic. I've heard promising reports from several sources.

I meant the movie Dev, can the musical liven it up a bit, I hope so!

One of my all time favourite movies, beautiful film. However it's never called out for the musical treatment so I'm worried a bit

The movie bored me to tears and I've never been a fan of Frankel and Korrie to be honest. But - Julian Ovendon! His presence alone makes me intersted in seeing this.

So I hope it makes the West End transfer - coz it's too much of a trek for me to get to Leicester! lol

How come this, with what seems like an entirely American production team, has ended up at a subsidised theatre in Leicester?
If you're a British citizen you can e-petition the government to grant Alan Turing a posthumous pardon here http://submissions.epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/23526; to put Alan Turing on the back of the £10 note here http://submissions.epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/31659; and to put a statue of Alan Turing on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square here http://submissions.epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/29811

We had a (absolutely appalling/can't remember the name, but it died a death in London) try out in Norwich some years ago. Basically they paid a pretty healthy guarantee to the theatre which took a chance on it being decent. I'm guessing this is the same.
This at least has some more than decent names associated with it.

I don't know whether you've been to Leicester, but the Curve is a new building with a great main proscenium theatre. (You may not like the bits around (sort of a curve), I do!). As a producing theatre I think the technical/back stage facilities are pretty good.
