Haha, no, this will not be the Aussie production. You could not fit that into the Ny Teater...

It's a new production - the first non-RUG production of the show, I believe - to be directed by Daniel Bohr, who does a lot of opera work but previously did Sound of Music at the Ny.

I was wondering about that, it is a very tiny space. But if they managed to squeeze phantom in there quite well I am sure they could squeeze the aussie version in there, just have to cut out the side towers.

But it would be great to see yet another take on this, let's hope they don't try to re-create London's design.

I wonder which of the 3 Danish phantoms will get the role? My money is on Peter Jorde just for the looks alone.

Isn't he too old? They usually cast an actor ten years younger than the character who is supposed to be ten years older than he was than at the end of Phantom of the Opera.

It's a little different here in Denmark. They usually cast older than in London.
Of the three Danish Phantoms (Peter Jorde, Flemming Enevold and Preben Kristensen) Preben is my favourite, but I know he wont be cast, as he is touring with two other performers for most of this year with a variety show.
Eventhough I like both Flemming and Peter I hope they will cast someone new as the Phantom.
There have been speculations that the current London Phantom Peter Jöback might be cast. He was one of the guys in talks for the role on Broadway before the transfer was cancelled and he speaks Danish quite well too.

I think Peter Jöback is contracted in POTO for six months---through approximately September 19. LND Denmark is supposed to begin its run on October 25. I don't know when rehearsals and Previews begin.

Would he have enough time?

Sally, Peter Joback will be doing a tour in his native Sweden with Norm Lewis, so I doubt he will do Love Never Dies.

I wasn't a fan of his rendition of POTO at the 25th Anniversary show, but the recordings of his performance in the actual show right now sound good.

So pleased that ALW's pride and joy is getting a chance in a whole new country. I hope it is successful enough to persuade the crew to bring it to Broadway, where it belongs.

I am a huge fan of both, obviously. Would love to see what they do with it in Denmark, once they keep the aussie book.

And please keep Peter Joback far away from this please, yes he can sing 'ok' for other genres, but vocally he is terribly miss cast in phantom
