Mama knew more about theatre in the UK (past and present) than anyone on this board. To someone like myself on the other side of the globe I always found his posts informative. They were the first I would read when I came here. Come back Mama!

Surely the whole point about these message boards is that we all as individuals can talk, comment, write..... about all theatre matters and that everyone else has the option to read, comment, agree, disagree....... but at the end of the day this is an open forum and everyone should treat each other with respect.

I echo those who observe that Mama has the best knowledge (and archives) of West End theatre history of anyone I've met online or off. His posts are vital, relevant, fun and fascinating.

I would also agree that there have been a couple of socially dysfunctional teenagers venting their frustrations into the board recently but somehow I don't think they will have put Mama off posting here. Remember Mama has had some pretty spectacular bust-ups with some of the biggest hitters on the Broadway board - he's not likely to be put off by a few insolent teenagers (who obviously have insufficient opportunity to masturbate).

Maybe Mama's posts are sometimes made in haste and can be misunderstood but you've got to understand the guy - life's too short to cram everything in! I always picture him posting into his i-phone as he dashes around the West End: from a bit of retail therapy in Covent Garden to a Shaftesbury Avenue box-office for a bit of gossip and then on to an Old Compton Street bar for a well earned drink.

Cheers Mama! Wherever you are I hope you're having a great time and that you'll come back refreshed and with a few golden nuggets to share.

Mamma is just fed up with nasty comments thrown his way and dealing with some of the idiots. He will be back, he's just having a little rest (with a large G and T of course)
