Not much love for this show so far and gauged from previous threads on this from Chichester.

However I am against this transfer to London, for pure selfish reasons as I am going to see this in a couple of weeks in Chichester, however if I wasn't going to Chichester I would not have such issues for this production to come to the West End.

Not sure why there's, er, no love for this.
One of the greatest musicals ever, great cast (Clive Rowe can mug as much as he likes for me), excellent choreographer and Trev can be a decent director. Let's hope this is one of those times.

And it'a not even started previewing yet, so the "no love" can't be for this production.

I saw this, this afternoon, I enjoyed it, a bit of a trek to get there.
Hannah Waddingham is amazing and while not in the same class, but still a brilliant performer and a person who always makes me smile and that is Clive Rowe. However my initial comments might sound ungenerous to the rest of the cast, it shouldn't do as they all played very well.

Look forward to catching this at the Old Vic again and so should you, if you can't get down to Chichester.

Hows the set design? Delighted to hear good reviews for Hannah although I was expecting nothing else

The set design was predictable primitive, but that is not to be considered as negative, as at times there was a lot of ingenuity for a temporary production, it would be expensive to have set parts raised by lifts from under the stage. Also being a thrust stage you have no fly to drop equipment, scene curtains etc.

The stage made use of curtains at the back of the stage, also if utilising the stage front, they would use kind of drapes on poles.

Is Kiss Me Kate the first musical that the Old Vic has had in a long time? I've shamefully never been to the Old Vic so I may have to book a ticket not only to see the show but to visit the Old Vic for the first time.

So we can finally establish that Adam Garcia is Bill Calhoun and not Petruchio.

I don't think I've seen Alex Bourne (who is Petruchio) in anything.

Scripps2 - I saw Alex Bourne as Kashoggi in WWRY and he has a fantastic voice, can't wait to see him in Kiss Me Kate! :)
