Kevin Spacey, Artistic Director of the Old Vic, just announced the new season, which will include another collaboration between James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave, who recently starred in Driving Miss Daisy on Broadway and the West End.

Mark Rylance will direct James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave in Shakespeare’s timeless comedy Much Ado About Nothing, running September 7- November 15.

While young lovers Claudio and Hero threaten to have their imminent nuptials thwarted by the resentful scheming of a Prince, marriage seems inconceivable for reluctant lovers Beatrice (Vanessa Redgrave) and Benedick (James Earl Jones). Redgrave and Earl Jones take on these roles for the first time.

Lindsay Posner directs Terence Rattigan’s compelling play, The Winslow Boy, based on a true story of a father’s fight to clear his son’s name when he is expelled after being convicted of theft, running March 8 -May 25.

First staged in 1946, the battle between personal principles and conscience plus an impenetrable establishment under the media spotlight makes The Winslow Boy as relevant today as it was then.

Marianne Elliott directs Kim Cattrall as fading a Hollywood legend ravaged by the bitterness of failure and despair, in Tennessee Williams’s powerful and poetic, Sweet Bird of Youth, running June 1- August 31.

Fleeing the disastrous premiere of her comeback film, Alexandra Del Lago [Cattrall] travels incognito as The Princess Kosmonopolis seeking refuge in drink, drugs and the arms of Chance Wayne, an idealistic young dreamer turned gigiolo and hellbent on achieving his own movie stardom. A trip to Chance’s hometown in a bid to win back his childhood sweetheart sees their relationship of convenience unravel in Williams’s vivid and haunting portrait of the destruction of dreams. Further cast to be announced.
