UK's The Daily Mail is reporting that London will get revivals of the musicals Annie Get Your Gun and Sweet Charity for Fall 2009.

The Mail's Baz Bamigboye reveals the news that former "EastEnders" star Tamzin Outhwaite will play the title role of Charity Hope Valentine in a Menier Chocolate Factory revival of the Cy Coleman, Dorothy Fields and Neil Simon musical. Sweet Charity is set to be directed by Matthew White with choreography by Stephen Mears and will run from November 21th, 2009 through March 7th, 2010.

Sweet Charity follows the misadventures of love encountered by the gullible and guileless Charity Hope Valentine, a dance hall hostess who always gives her heart and dreams to the wrong man. The musical features such classic songs as "Hey, Big Spender," and "If My Friends Could See Me Now".

Next up in Bamigboye's report on London's busy upcoming theatre schedule is information that Jane Horrocks and Julian Ovenden are set to headline a production of Annie Get Your Gun directed by Richard Jones for the Young Vic. The revival of the Irving Berlin, Herbert Fields and Dorothy Fields musical is being planned for a October 3rd 2009 London bow.

Annie Get Your Gun is a fictionalized version of the life of Annie Oakley, who was a sharpshooter from Ohio, and her husband, Frank Butler. The 1946 Broadway production was a hit, and the musical had long runs in both New York and London, spawning many revivals, a 1950 film version and television versions. Songs that became hits include "There's No Business Like Show Business", "Doin' What Comes Natur'lly", "You Can't Get a Man with a Gun", "They Say It's Wonderful", and "Anything You Can Do."
