Mike Daisy's THE AGONY & THE ECSTASY OF STEVE JOBS will make its London premiere at Waterloo East Theatre, directed by Nasser Memarzia, tonight, 5-24 February 2013.

A hilarious and harrowing tale of pride, beauty, lust and industrial design in which we encounter how the former CEO of Apple, Steve Jobs, and his obsessions continue to shape our lives. We follow the trail all the way to China to investigate the factories where millions toil to make ours iPhones, iPads and iPods.

Mike Daisey's razor-sharp script takes us on a journey that shines a light on our love affair with our devices and the human cost of creating them.

Director Nasser Memarzia said: "This latest, meticulously revised version of Daisy's play is distilled and all the more powerful for its honesty and the passion behind it. Seldom do you come across a piece of social commentary that so intricately expresses the writer's personal experience with such universal relevance. Daisy speaks with authority and to our delight, keeps his sense of humour throughout. With my own background and roots, the piece conjures up deep rooted empathy and I'm looking forward to bringing it to life for the London audience."

The show is produced by David Adkin in association with the Waterloo East Theatre. Waterloo East Theatre is located on Brad Street, London SE1. The production will play 5-24 February 2013; Tues-Sat at 7.30pm, Sun at 4pm. Press Night: Thursday 7th February 2013 at 7.30pm. Tickets: £12/10. Box Office: www.waterlooeast.co.uk / 020 7928 0060.
