Second Skin Theatre Commissions New Play, THE EXORCISM

Following Second Skin Theatre's hit production of Quills by Doug Wright, the company celebrates the holiday season with a tale of a middle-class Christmas reunion that hastens a haunting. "N16's resident theatre company" (N16 Magazine) has commissioned local playwright Duncan Stevens to write a new adaptation of the BBC 1972 series The Exorcism, set on Stoke Newington Church Street and staged at the White Rabbit Theatre from November 28 to December 16.

Andy McQuade (Best Director 2012 – Fringe Report) directs this psychological horror story that uses the atmospheric downstairs space of the White Rabbit Cocktail Club as its inspiration. Upholding its reputation for bold and visceral productions, Second Skin Theatre explores elements of terror in isolation and the unknown, amidst themes of starvation and poverty in a society that leaves its forgotten poor to haunt the privileged few.

A lavish Christmas gathering hosted by Terrence and Clara for their friends Richard and Rachel is disrupted by disturbing phenomena which then leads to reality collapsing in front of their eyes. Soon everything they once took for granted falls beyond their reach, and only a wronged voice from the past offers sanity…

Directed by Andy McQuade. Produced by Jessica Ruano.
Designed by Ana Ines Jabares, Lighting Designer by Sarah Crocker, and Lights and Sound by Luca Romagnoli.
Production Manager is Naomi Vandermolen and Assistant Director is Eleanor Appleton.
Featuring Matthew Howell, Sally Lofthouse, George Collie, and Sarita Plowman.

Second Skin Theatre's The Exorcism by Duncan Stevens plays from November 28 to December 16 at the White Rabbit Theatre, 125 Stoke Newington Church Street, N16 0UH. Wednesday to Sunday evenings at 7:30pm. Advance tickets: £12 at ticketweb.co.uk or secondskintheatre.com
