STAGE TUBE: THE SOUND OF MUSIC 's 'Do Re Mi' Performed at Central Station Antwerp

More than 200 dancers were performed a specially created and directed version of "Do Re Mi", in the Central Station of Antwerp. It is reported that there were only two rehearsals for this wonderful stunt.

The surprise event took place on March 2009 at 8:00 AM. It was a promotional stunt for a Belgian television program, where they are searching for someone to play the leading role, in the musical of "The Sound of Music".

The Sound of Music is a critically acclaimed and much loved musical that has been around for decades. The last musical to be produced by Rodgers and Hammerstein, the Sound of Music opened on Broadway in 1959 and became a smash-hit film starring Julie Andrews in 1965. In 2008, a revival production was launched by Andrew Lloyd Webber in London, England. That same production was brought to Toronto later that year, and is now playing an open ended run at the Princess of Wales Theatre.

In a Canadian first, the title role of Maria for the Toronto run was chosen by the public via a television show that was Broadcast on the CBC titled How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? The winner, Elicia MacKenzie is currently playing the title role and is receiving rave reviews. The runner-up and fellow TV Maria Janna Polzin was cast as an "alternate", playing the role twice a week for the Wednesday evenings and Saturday matinees.

When the Sound of Music opened in Toronto on October 3rd, 2008 it received rave reviews. It is one of those rare musical gems that appeals to all ages and is also age appropriate, something that the whole family can really enjoy together. The Star proclaimed "This is the show we all ought to, need to, have to see right now. Don't miss it."

The Sound of Music has also been made into an Academy Award-winning 1965 film musical. The Sound of Music was the final musical written by Rodgers and Hammerstein; Hammerstein died of cancer nine months after the Broadway premiere.
