From March 7, 2012, Wednesday evening performances of SHREK THE MUSICAL® will begin 30 minutes earlier at the more 'school night' friendly time of 7pm. In addition to the earlier midweek start time, a family ticket is now available for Wednesday and Thursday evening performances (excluding school holiday periods but including summer); which means that a family of four (including at least two under 16's) can see Shrek The Musical for the fairytale price of £99 for the Upper Circle or £150 for best available seats, making the adventure much more affordable. Wherever you decide to sit at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, you can enjoy an excellent view: www.ShrekTheMusical.co.uk/tickets/view-from-your-seat
Family tickets can be booked via the website, www.ShrekTheMusical.co.uk, in person from the box office, or by phoning: 0844 871 8810.
On May 16, 2012, a performance of SHREK THE MUSICAL® for children with special needs and their families will be held at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Presented by Mousetrap Theatre Projects, supported by ICAP and DreamWorks Theatricals, this is a 'relaxed performance' for children with sensory and communication needs who require a more relaxed environment. Mousetrap Theatre Projects, a theatre education charity, is working closely with a range of organisations and special schools to reach families directly.
Mousetrap Theatre Projects and DreamWorks Theatricals will also be creating a specially commissioned educational resource pack that supports teachers and parents to introduce and discuss elements of the production, including story line, settings and characters. To help families plan a more enjoyable evening at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, there will also be a visual story for the children; a pictorial introduction to the theatre building and the experience of being an audience member. The resource pack and visual story will be available online at www.ShrekTheMusical.co.uk and www.mousetrap.org.uk from April, 2012.
SHREK THE MUSICAL® has now been seen by more than half a million people at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane since the new stage production began preview performances on May 6, 2011.
