Russ Abbot is reclaiming Fagin's coat for a fortnight, while current incumbent Rowan Atkinson recovers from a hernia operation.

An official statement explains: "The condition, whilst neither serious nor dangerous, is extremely painful and prevents normal movement, making performing impossible."

Tim Laurenti has been covering Atkinson's recent holiday, but Abbot will be stepping in at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane from April 13.  He is no stranger to the role, having played it in the previous Palladium production and on tour.
