Three New Books
This month Pighog staff took to the road to tell the world about three new books at London Book Fair.
A Year's Midnight is the brilliant and hilarious debut novel from Limerick's Ciaran O'Driscoll. Simultaneously a page-turning mystery and a lyrical evocation of its protagonist's tragi-comic mental mishaps, the novel was given a rapturous reception at its recent London launch.
Double Edge is the debut full collection from Lewes-based poet Kay Syrad. In this work of poise and dextrous wordplay, Syrad explores all kinds of limits and differences - between self and other, inside and outside, the natural and the made.
Also fresh from its London launch is Hallucinated Horse: New Latin American Poets, an edgy and magical sampler of the work of young poets from all over the Americas. With English translations facing the Spanish originals, this is a refreshing and essential poetic experience.
Pighog's presence at Brighton Festival Fringe is a celebration of the energy and vitality of the spoken word in all its forms. The company has the privilege of offering up a richly entertaining line-up which includes Ciaran O'Driscoll, Shedman, Xelís de Toro, Tony Flynn, A Lifetime of Love, Kevin Elyot, the all-new Echo Room, and many, many more fabulous talents. The full festival programme and advance tickets are now available here.
