Award Nominated Vertigo Theatre Productions bring the smash hit Charles Busch Off Broadway play 'Psycho Beach Party' to the UK opening March 23rd at Taurus in Manchester.

"Gidget", Frankie and Annette beach party epics and Hitchcock psychological suspense thrillers such as "Spellbound" and "Marnie" are given a shotgun marriage. Chicklet Forrest, a teenage tomboy, desperately wants to be part of the surf crowd on Malibu Beach in 1962. One thing getting in her way is her unfortunate tendency towards split personalities. Among them is a black check out girl, an elderly radio talk show hostess, a male model named Steve and the accounting firm of Edelman and Edelman. Her most dangerous alter ego is a sexually voracious vixen named Ann Bowman who has nothing less than world domination on her mind.
A hilarious homage/parody of the 60's beach movies that the New York Times gleefully labelled ‘Gidget Goes Berserk!, and the associated press called "Fiendishly funny! Zany!"

Psycho Beach Party is almost sold out so if you would like to watch one of the craziest and campest shows in town get booking today. It may be cold outside but Taurus will be filled with beach boys, bikinis, swim shorts, surf boards and a whole lot of crazy.

Starring Brad Stoloff in the lead role of Chicklet Forrest originally made famous by Charles Busch himself on stage and Lauren Ambrose on film, he is joined by Mike Gates, Danny Hynes, Jay Hobday, Louise Allen, Ash Baines, David McLaghlin, Liam Grunshaw and Adele Stanhope.

The show is playing as part of a Charles Busch fortnight by Vertigo which also sees his Smash Hit Off Broadway play ‘Die, Mommie'Die!' starring Dale Vicker in the iconic role as Angela Arden take to the stage the week after in the same venue. Die, Mommie, Die! is almost sold out.

Both plays are directed Craig Hepworth.
