Photo Flash: Stage Adaptation of EXAM in Rehearsals at Gen-X
Award nominated Vertigo Theatre Productions is responsible for the hit original plays Numb, Rage, M, cLOOless, Christmas Sorority Massacre and the award nominated OUT!, as well as presenting the UK Premiere Productions of Die, Mommie, Die!, Psycho Beach Party and Dog Sees God: Confessions Of A Teenage Blockhead. Now the celebrated fringe company has opened a spinoff company called Gen-X and will open its new thriller Exam, based on the cult British film by Stuart Hazeldine. Eight talented candidates have reached the final stage of selection to join the ranks of a mysterious and powerful corporation. Entering a windowless room, an Invigilator gives them eighty minutes to answer one simple question. He outlines three rules they must obey or be disqualified: don't talk to him or the armed guard by the door, don't spoil their papers and don't leave the room. However with no question in front of them it soon becomes apparent that this test is going to be unlike anything they have experienced before, and with every one of them desperate to be chosen it’s not long before the candidates begin to turn on each other. How far would you be willing to go to get what you want? An exciting psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end and have you on The Edge of your seats. Casting includes David Degiorgio, Haydn Holden, Adele Stanhope, Andrew Marsden, Ben Rigby, Natalie Perry, Emma Wilkinson, Stuart Reeve and Lily Dong. Adapted to the stage by Gen X, Directed by award nominated Craig Hepworth as well as Richard Allen who makes his directing debut.
